A desk is an instant funded account, so you can start trading straight away, without an entry fee or an evaluation. You pay a small daily fee for as long as it’s open, and whenever a payout window comes round and you’re up, you can take some of that profit out in USDC.
How a desk works
- Pick a size and a max loss. The max loss sets your room, which is the most the desk can lose, and your floor. If your equity ever touches the floor, the desk ends.
- Pay a daily fee. The fee is based on your room and comes out of your balance every hour while the desk is open. See Prop funding rate.
- Trade. You trade stock and crypto perps in a simulated account priced from live order books. There are no trading fees or daily loss limits, just the floor.
- Request a payout. Payout windows open at regular intervals, and if you’re up enough with no open positions you can request 80% of your profit in USDC, up to your payout credit and what’s left of your payout cap. After a payout the account goes back to its starting size, and any profit you didn’t take out doesn’t carry over, so it’s worth thinking about when you ask for one.
- When it ends. A desk ends when it touches the floor, when you close it, when your balance can’t cover the next fee, when you reach your payout cap, or at the end of its term. After trading stops there’s one last payout window, so you still get a chance to take out what you’ve earned.
What you can lose
The most you can lose is the fees you’ve paid. You don’t owe anything if the account loses money, because the account is simulated and its losses never become yours.
Payout credit and cap
Every fee you pay earns payout credit, and the longer your desk stays open, the more credit each fee earns. A payout can’t be more than the credit you’ve built up, so a trader who keeps a desk alive and profitable for a couple of months can take out much more than one who only lasted a week. Each desk also has a payout cap, which is the most it can pay you over its whole life. The cap is a share of your room that’s set when you open the desk, and once your payouts add up to it, the desk closes. We’ll publish the credit multipliers and cap sizes soon.
Plans
There are two plans. Standard is free, and Max costs a one-time price when you open the desk in exchange for more payout credit and a higher cap. We’ll publish the details soon.
Limits
You can have up to three desks open at once, and desks run by your AI agents count toward that number. We check your identity before any payout is sent.
Trader of the month (coming soon)
Each month, one trader will win a USDC bonus on top of their desk payouts. The bonus grows in proportion to Over’s growth, and we’ll share more details soon.
